Delivery & Substitution Policy

We hand-design and deliver fresh flowers and gifts from Oliver Flower Shop in Pittsburgh. This policy explains delivery times, areas and fees, special delivery instructions, and substitutions.

Hospitals, Funeral Homes, and Delivery Exceptions

Hospitals: Include the patient’s full name, hospital and campus, and room number if available. Facility rules vary; many ICUs restrict flowers and latex balloons are commonly prohibited. Mylar balloons may be available where permitted. If a patient has been discharged or a unit cannot accept the gift, we may contact you to arrange redelivery or another address.

Funeral homes: Include the deceased’s name, funeral home, service date and start time, and chapel or room. We prioritize funeral deliveries and coordinate timing with the funeral home. If a requested banner is unavailable in time, we may add flowers to meet the arrangement’s value.

Other delivery details: We cannot deliver to P.O. boxes or APO addresses. If no one is available, the driver may leave the gift in a safe place or with a neighbor, or leave a notice to arrange another delivery. Leave-at-door requests are at the customer’s risk. A $10 address-correction fee may apply after an attempted delivery to an incorrect address. If a recipient refuses an order, the sender may be responsible for its cost. We may contact the recipient to help complete delivery.

Same-day orders are processed promptly and may not be changeable. To ask about an order change, call (412) 421-0350.

Substitution Policy

Flower and gift availability changes with the season. If an item is unavailable, we may substitute items of equal or greater value while keeping the arrangement’s overall style, color palette, and intended feel as close as possible.

• Flowers: Comparable stems may be substituted to preserve the design and value.
• Plants: A similar plant of equal or greater value may be used; containers may vary.
• Balloons: Where latex balloons are restricted, Mylar may be substituted when available and permitted.
• Gift baskets: Individual items may be replaced with comparable items of equal or greater value.

If you have a question about a delivery or substitution, call (412) 421-0350.
